Bankview is a small inner-city neighbourhood in Calgary consisting of approximately 5,000 residents. One of the oldest communities in Calgary with great history dating as far back as 1882, it was mainly used for ranching and farming, and was officially established as a community in 1908. The land was purchased by a man named William Nimmons from the Hudson Bay Company and his residence is still standing today and considered a heritage building within Calgary.

Over a century ago Bankview was considered a farming community, but today it is one of the most walkable communities in all of Calgary.
